Total Number of Audiences for The Prince of Tennis Musicals Surpasses Three Million

 

 

The official website for the musical adaptation project inspired by Takeshi Konomi's The Prince of Tennis sports manga announced on August 25 that the total number of audiences for the musical shows had surpassed a milestone of three million during the latest show "Seigaku vs Fudomine" of its fourth season.

 

The site writes, "It's all thanks to all of you who have supported us. Again, we would like to express our gratitude." In celebration of the three million mark, a special curtain call was held after the performance at 13:30 on August 27. Hikaru Imamaki, who is now cast as the protagonist Ryoma Echizen, wrote on Twitter after the curtain call, "I'm so happy to be part of its 18-year history!"

 

The Prince of Tennis musical adaptation project was launched in April 2013 and has performed more than 1,900 times across Japan. It has become one of the most successfull 2.5 dimensional show based on a popular Japanese manga. Its ongoing latest show "Musical The Prince of Tennis 4th Season Seigaku vs Fudomine" is scheduled to be performed at Nihon Seinenkan Hall in Tokyo until August 29.
