Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend Fine Dominates Japan's DVD & Blu-ray Sales Charts

According to Oricon's latest sales report announced today, the perfect limited production edition Blu-ray of Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend Fine / Saekano the Movie: Finale sold an impressive 36,000 units in its first week of release, becoming the top-selling Blu-ray of the week in Japan. Meanwhile, the film's perfect limited production edition DVD sold 5,000 units, also becoming the top-selling DVD.

Both of the 8,500-yen DVD and 9,500-yen Blu-ray were released in Japan on September 23. The release day was also the birthday of the anime's main heroine, Megumi Kato.

As a sequel to the TV anime that ran for two seasons in 2015 and 2017, the 115-minute final installment of the anime adaptation project based on Fumiaki Maruto's romantic comedy light novel series was released in Japanese theaters on October 26, 2019, and earned 731 million yen from its domestic run.

The box art for the perfect limited production editions below was newly drawn by the Saekano novel's original illustrator Kurehito Misaki.
