The official website for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba website announced today that the upcoming Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba THE MOVIE Mugen Train anime film will be released on IMAX simultaneously with regular showings of the Ufotable-animated film. A new poster, based on the old poster, was released with a giant IMAX logo next to the date.

The IMAX version of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba film makes use of the enhanced sound that comes with the format to give viewers the experience of being inside the battle when Tanjiro uses his Water Breathing techniques. Other sound effects, such as the train, have been specially formatted for IMAX alongside the high-quality visuals. The film will play in all 38 IMAX theaters across Japan. Mugen Train will be the first Japanese released film on IMAX in 2020.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba THE MOVIE Mugen Train continues to adapt the manga series by Koyoharu Gotouge, which saw a TV anime series in 2019. The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba TV anime series streamed on Crunchyroll as it aired.
