Pokémon Sword and Shield Chills Out With 2nd DLC Launching on October 22

Pokémon Sword and Shield

The official Pokémon YouTube channel announced today that the second of the two expansion pass regions for Pokémon Sword and Shield will be launching on the Nintendo Switch on October 22. The Crown Tundra comes alive with all the past legendary Pokémon to catch, as well as new game modes and some of the best hats in gaming.

After completing the region, a new game mode called the Galarian Star Tournament opens up giving players the chance to team up with your favorite NPC (A.K.A Marnie) to take on the rest of the NPC's in new and interesting ways.

To celebrate the release, two giveaways are starting up, one in the base game, and the other on the Pokémon Home service, which will soon be linking with Pokémon GO. In the base game, codes will be given out for all the Pikachu wearing Ash's hat from the anime, the first code (above) has already been released with the next few being released in various places. The second giveaway through Pokémon Home is a Melmetal that can Gigantamax – the first of it's kind.
