Video game studios Microids and ENDROAD are teaming up to bring Go Nagai's UFO Robo Grendizer to your game console. Today, a teaser and some visuals dropped for the upcoming action game, which adapts the third series in Nagai's Mazinger universe.
The game was first announced back in February, and the creative team will include the artistic stylings of Laurent Cluzel (Fable, The City of Lost Children) and official Grendizer artist Philippe Dessoly (a.k.a. Golgoth71).
Two early art pieces (seen above) give us a first look at Grendizer and the Spazer as they might be seen in the upcoming game. A new teaser also shows us the mighty mecha:
Stephane Longeard, CEO of Microids, looks forward to the expertise of ENDROAD in adapting Grendizer into game format. Longeard adds, "We cannot wait to share more about the title’s gameplay!"
Colomban Ciceron, game director and co-founder of ENROAD, says: "We are all fans of this IP we grew up with and we’re fully dedicated in providing players the game they’ve been dreaming about for decades. We are exceedingly grateful to be able to work on this IP and will do our very best to deliver an exceptional gaming experience."
Details are scarce for now, but we do know the game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. At present, Grendizer is set for release sometime in 2023.
