Maaya Sakamoto, Hiroshi Kamiya Join Cider no You ni Anime Film

 

 

The official website for the upcoming original anime film Cider no You ni Kotoba ga Wakiagaru (Words are boiling up like cider) is updated today with a newly-drawn main visual by its character designer Yukiko Aikei (Accel World, Aikatsu Stars!). The visual filled with sweet youthful colors introduces the film's main characters, including its tow protagonists: Cherry, a 17-year-old haiku-loving boy, and Smile, a 17-year-old girl who always wears a mask to hide the braces on her front tooth.

  

Also, Maaya Sakamoto (Akito Souma in Fruit Basket) and Hiroshi Kamiya (Levi in Attack on Titan) are announced as the film's two additional vice casts. Sakamoto plays a character named Maria, while Kamiya voices Kouichi according to the voice cast list on the site.

 

 

 

In addition, the film's theme song of the same name, "Cider no You ni Kotoba ga Wakiagaru" is performed by a four-member pop band never young beach. This is their first anime theme song work. And the film's insert song "YAMAZAKURA" is sung by a 66-year-old veteran singer-songwriter Taeko Onuki. The theme song's single CD and the film's soundtrack album are set to be released on May 13, 2020.

 

  


  

The film is produced as the tenth-anniversary project for Victor Entertainment's anime music label FlyingDog. Kyohei Ishiguro (Your Lie in April) is attached to direct on a screenplay by Dai Sato (Mysterious Joker). Yukiko Aikei (Aikatsu Star!) serves as character designer, Signal.MD and Sublimation co-work on anime production. It is set to be released in Japan on May 15, 2020.
