Kakushigoto TV Anime Adds 6 More Members to Its Secret Manga Life

Hime Goto is surprised to discover her father's manga artwork archives in a scene from the upcoming Kakushigoto TV anime.

Six more cast members have been revealed for Kakushigoto, an upcoming TV anime based on the family comedy manga by Kouji Kumeta (Sayonara, Zetsubou-sensei) about a father who is trying to hide his true identity as a raunchy manga author from his young daughter. The new cast members include:

A character visual of Ichiko Rokujou, a homeroom teacher from the upcoming Kakushigoto TV anime.

Maaya Uchida as Ichiko Rokujou, Hime's homeroom teacher. Ichiko is a fan of Kakushi's manga. She is known for wearing track suits and carrying a "man catcher" polearm for dealing with suspicious people. Her name is a pun that means "six emotions in one girl".

A character visual of Nadira, a housekeeper from the upcoming Kakushigoto TV anime.

Emiri Katō as Nadira, a housekeeper from Indonesia who works for the Goto household. Nadira refers to Kakushi as "Cool Japan" and to Hime as "Hime-sama". Nadira can summon up spirits for soothsaying by burning incense.

A character visual of Mario, a clothing shop owner from the upcoming Kakushigoto TV anime.

Daisuke Namikawa as Mario, the owner of a second-hand clothing & select brands shop known as "Marriott Ranch Market" where Kakushi changes into his real work clothes every day. Mario's collection of clothing is all-over-the-place, and his real name is unknown.

A character visual of Naru Senda, a high school student / aspiring idol singer from the upcoming Kakushigoto TV anime.

Rikako Aida as Naru Senda, a high school student and would-be idol. Hime hears her singing in the park and becomes Naru's "number 1 fan". Naru is also good at painting and she has a part-time job working in a painting classroom. Her name is a pun that means "I want to be the center [of an idol group]".

You Shiokoshi, a cooking adviser from the upcoming Kakushigoto TV anime.

Shiho Kokido as You Shiokoshi, a cooking advisor in a cooking class that Kakushi attends. You dreams of releasing her own original design for a frying pan one day. Her name is a pun that means "salt and pepper seasoning". Kakushi thinks that she's trying to seduce him, but...

A character visual of Kumi Jouro, a flower shop clerk from the upcoming Kakushigoto TV anime.

Yumi Hara as Kumi Jouro, a clerk who works in a flower shop in the town where Kakushi and Hime live. Kumi has a sunny disposition and it's her everyday habit to "water everything", whether it's a flower or a small bird. Her name is a pun that means "watering can class". Kakushi thinks that she's trying to seduce him, but...

The story of Kakushigoto follows the father-daughter pair of Kakushi and Hime Goto. Kakushi loves his daughter more than anything, but he doesn't want Hime, who is only in the 4th grade, to learn that her father is the author of a somewhat vulgar and disreputable weekly manga series, because he fears that Hime would resent him if she found out. With the help of his editors and assistants, Kakushi does his best to keep his profession a secret.

The title Kakushigoto is a play on words for the Japanese phrases for "a secret" and "a drawing job", both of which are pronounced the same way but written with different characters.

A key visual for the upcoming Kakushigoto TV anime, featuring the main characters Hime Gotou and Kakushi Gotou at the beach while flanked on either side by school supplies and the tools of creating comics.

Kakushigoto is directed by Yuuta Murano and features animation production by Ajia-do Animation Works. The series will broadcast in Japan on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, BS NTV, and AT-X beginning on April 02, 2020.
