Handsome Guys Get Literary in Bungo to Alchemist TV Anime Key Visual

Five new cast members and a new key visual (below) have been revealed for Bungo to Alchemist ("Literary Master and Alchemist"), an upcoming TV anime based on the otome game by DMM Games that re-imagines famous authors as super-powered librarians protecting the world of literature from an uncanny threat. The new cast members include:

 

A character visual of Murō Saisei, a reincarnated Alchemist poet from the upcoming Bungo to Alchemist TV anime.

 

Ryōta Ōsaka as Murō Saisei.

 

A character visual of Naoya Shiga, a reincarnated Alchemist novelist from the upcoming Bungo to Alchemist TV anime.

 

Tomoaki Maeno as Naoya Shiga.

 

A character visual of Saneatsu Mushanokōji, a reincarnated Alchemist novelist from the upcoming Bungo to Alchemist TV anime.

 

KENN as Saneatsu Mushanokōji.

The story of Bungo to Alchemist is set in a world where great works of literature have the power to move people's hearts. However, literature itself is under threat by "Invader", a malevolent force born of negative human emotion that seeks to erase these great works from humanity's collective memories. Only "Alchemists" - reincarnated authors with special abilities - have the power to defend the world of literature from "Invader".

Bungo to Alchemist is directed by Toshinori Watabe and features animation production by OLM. The series will broadcast in Japan beginning in April of 2020.
