Otaku Elf TV Anime Welcomes Two New Cast Members to the Shrine

Elda isn't the only elf goddess in town! The latest news from Otaku Elf introduces another otherworldly elf and her shrine maiden to the mix.

Joining the cast of the spring series are:

Rie Kugimiya (Kagura in Gintama) as Yord: a 622-year-old dark elf summoned to our world by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. She now serves as the deity of the Hiromimi Shrine. Unlike Elda, she's lively and well-traveled; however, she has a terrible sense of direction.

Teru Ikuta (Futaba Isurugi in Revue Starlight) as Himawari Kohinata: The 15th shrine maiden of Hiromimi Shrine and Yord's caretaker. While outwardly cool, she finds Yord's childishness endearing and is prone to spoiling her.

Otaku Elf is being directed by Takefumi Anzai (Hitoribocchi no Marumaruseikatsu) at studio C2C, alongside Shogo Yasukawa (The Executioner and Her Way of Life) writing the series composition, Takeshi Oda (Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina) as character designer and chief animation director and Akito Matsuda (Sound! Euphonium) as music composer.

The original manga by Akihiko Higuchi began in June 2019. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga's official English version with five volumes translated and describes the series as:

Koganei Koito works as the teenage shrine maiden at the Takamimi Shrine, catering to the whims of its resident: a centuries-old elf who loves video games as much as she hates going outside! Line up your offerings for the otaku elf—some energy drinks, chips and video games will do nicely—and watch her new friends scramble to keep up!

The Otaku Elf TV anime is currently streaming on HIDIVE.
