Today, the Guinness World Records recognized Yoko Kamio's Hana Yori Dango (Boys Over Flowers) series as "the most published copies of a shojo manga series written by a single author."
The romantic comedy series was serialized in Shueisha's biweekly shoujo manga magazine Margaret from October 1992 to January 2004. The series was released in a total of 37 manga volumes, with the complete edition in 20 volumes, with the total number of copies printed exceeding 59.4 million (excluding the digital edition). The series has been adapted into various media, including TV anime, live-action films, TV dramas and stage plays.

To commemorate the series' 30th anniversary, "Boys Over Flowers Exhibition -Jewelry BOX-" opened at Matsuya Ginza in Tokyo starting on April 19. It displays approximately 250 artworks, including color and black-and-white originals and newly drawn illustrations of the series.
