Last July, the Electronic Software Association announced plans to bring the E3 trade show back with the help of event producer ReedPOP!. In the months since, there have been rumors about some of the biggest publishers skipping this year's festivities, and so far Nintendo has confirmed as much.
In a statement to IGN, Nintendo said the following: "We approach our involvement in any event on a case-by-case basis and are always considering various ways to engage with our fans. Since this year’s E3 show didn’t fit into our plans, we have made the decision to not participate. However, we have been and continue to be a strong supporter of the ESA and E3."

We'll have to wait and see if Nintendo has any adjacent plans for the weekend of the event. E3 2023 is set to be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from June 13 to June 16.
