With Attack on Titan Final Season set to return in a little less than two weeks, Japanese broadcaster NHK has been given a direct line to the production process of the upcoming one-hour special. The team at NHK set up 100 cameras in MAPPA to chronicle the production process in a documentary that is set to air on February 23.
The documentary will air as part of the 100 Kame (short for “camera” in Japanese) series where 100 cameras are set up in an environment to capture everything. Past specials included a penguin and panda enclosure in Wakayama and a woman’s boat race in Shizuoka. The 100 cameras caught everything from animators drawing frames, the CG being worked on by the CG artists, production staff managing the operation and even director Yuichiro Hayashi.
Alongside the announcement, NHK also released a special wallpaper featuring Armin, Levi and Mikasa in front of the final form Eren with the Shibuya NHK building in between.
The 100 Kame Attack on Titan documentary will air on NHK-G on February 23 at 9:30 PM ahead of the first half of Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 Final Arc is scheduled to air on NHK General on March 4 at 12:25 AM Japan time as a one-hour special with Yuichiro Hayashi returning to direct the next part at MAPPA. The second part is scheduled for sometime in 2023.

Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 aired weekly right here on Crunchyroll and is streaming alongside the rest of the decade-long anime franchise. Here's how Crunchyroll describes the series:
Known in Japan as Shingeki no Kyojin, many years ago, the last remnants of humanity were forced to retreat behind the towering walls of a fortified city to escape the massive, man-eating Titans that roamed the land outside their fortress. Only the heroic members of the Scouting Legion dared to stray beyond the safety of the walls – but even those brave warriors seldom returned alive. Those within the city clung to the illusion of a peaceful existence until the day that dream was shattered, and their slim chance at survival was reduced to one horrifying choice: kill – or be devoured!
