The path of true love never did run smooth, and now the TV anime for Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie (known in Japan as Kawaii dake janai Shikimori-san) has hit a bit of a speed bump: according to the official Twitter feed for the show, the anime's initial broadcast date has been delayed by one week due to "organizational circumstances".

The original Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie manga by Keigo Maki is serialized in Kodansha's Manga Pocket digital manga magazine, and an English language version is published in the United States by Kodansha USA, who describe the story of the series as follows:

Shikimori seems like the perfect girlfriend: cute, fun to be around, sweet when she wants to be… but she has a cool dark side that comes out under the right circumstances. And her boyfriend Izumi loves to be around when that happens! A fun and funny high school romance with a sassy twist perfect for fans of Nagatoro-san and Komi Can’t Communicate!

The Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie TV anime is directed by Ryota Itoh and features animation production by Doga Kobo. The series was originally scheduled to broadcast in Japan on Asahi Broadcasting Corporation and TV Asahi beginning on April 02, 2022, but it is now scheduled to begin broadcasting on April 09, 2022.

Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie will broadcast on Saturdays during the "late night" 2:00am time slot (actually on Sunday morning) as part of the "ANiMAZing!!!" programming block.
