JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 Anime Film Pushes Past 8.57 Billion Yen at Japan's Box Office

JUJUTSU KAISEN 0

JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 continues to parade through the Japanese box office with Toho announcing today that the film has surpassed 8.57 billion yen, making more than the theatrical runs of the Hideaki Anno-produced Shin Godzilla film and the now-classic anime film Stand By Me Doraemon. This increase also pushes the Weekly Shonen Jump adaptation up to 64th place on the all-time Japanese box office charts.

As of Sunday, January 17, JUJUTSU KAISEN 0's 24th day in theaters, the MAPPA-produced movie has brought in 8,576,429,150 yen (US$74.62 million) on the back of 6,288,404 tickets sold. At 64th place on the Japanese box office all-time chart, which includes both domestically-made and foreign-made films, JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 now sits between the 2009 film Rookies the Movie: Graduation now pushed down to 65th place and the first Matrix film at 63rd place.

JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 overtook the lifetime gross of Hideaki Anno's Shin Godzilla film and is also on track to overtake the box office gross of Anno's Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time anime film, which was the highest-grossing film in Japan of 2021.
