NieR Re[in]carnation launched last year in Japan, bringing the world of Yoko Taro's dark fantasy series to mobile devices. Later next month, Western servers will be opening for the popular game, letting you explore the series's world through new eyes.
The first mobile game in the NieR series, NieR Re[in]carnation is designed to appeal to anyone who enjoys smartphone games, regardless of their familiarity with the series. Navigate the fully-voiced, story-heavy game by issuing commands to your characters in battle. Or, if you're a less skilled player, take advantage of the "Auto" mode where the characters steer themselves.
Check out a new trailer for the game, released by IGN:
The official website is now open, and it describes the game this way:
It is a place called The Cage.
A girl awakens on a cold stone floor.
She finds herself in an infinitely vast place filled with buildings that touch the very sky.
Guided by a mysterious creature who calls herself Mama, she begins to explore her new surroundings.
To reclaim what she has lost—and atone for her sins—she sets off on a journey through this place of unknown creation.
…A place known as The Cage.
Pre-registration is now open for iOS and Android, with more than 300,000 players already signed on.
NieR Re[in]carnation from Square Enix and Applibot goes live in the West on July 28.
