Jason David Frank, the one time star of the 1993 Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series, passed away at the age of 49 according to Variety and the Associated Press. Frank's representative, Justine Hunt, confirmed his sudden death to the Associated Press but did not officially confirm a cause of death. Hunt further requested that the privacy of his family be respected at this time.

Jason David Frank is known to a generation of kids as the Green Ranger in the 1993 Saban-produced adaptation of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, adapted from the Super Sentai series Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger spliced with new scenes featuring the adapted cast. Frank was also one of the very few cast members from the original adaptation to continue in the role with his most recent appearance being in Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel, broadcast in 2017 and the rebooted Power Rangers feature film in the same year in a cameo.

Outside of his television work, Frank was also an avid martial artist and expert, frequently participating in MMA competitions in 2010 while also running the Rising Sun Karate Academy in South Texas where he most recently worked as an instructor. His most recent acting project before his passing was the production of the feature film Legend of the White Dragon, which is now slated for a release sometime in 2023. He will be missed by those closest to him and by an entire generation of fans that looked up to him as the Green and White Ranger.
