One Piece Film Red Theme Song Singer Ado Receives The Excellent Work Award of Japan Record Awards

 

 

The judging panel for the 64th Japan Record Awards was held in Tokyo on November 15, and ten winners of the Excellent Work Award, including Ado for singing "Shinjidai / New Genesis" (the theme song for One Piece Film Red), and other awards, were decided. The ten winners are also nominated for the Grand Prix of Japan Record Award, which will be announced on December 30.

 

"Shinjidai / New Genesis" was released digitally on June 8, 2022, then ranked No.1 on 16 digital charts in four days. On August 31, the total number of times the song has been streamed exceeded 100 million. Ado also won the Special Achievement Award, an honor that goes to people and works that have attracted public attention in the world, for two years in a row.

Meanwhile, anisong singer Aimer wins the Special Acheivement Award for singing "Zankyo Sanka" and "Asa ga Kuru," the opening and ending theme songs for the TV anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc. The CD single containing both songs was released as her 20th single on January 12, 2022, then ranked No.1 on Oricon's weekly single charts. 

 

She wrote on Twitter, "I am very honored to receive this prestigious award. I will continue to make music. I will continue to sing. May it reach you."
