Shueisha's entertainment news site Shueisha Online announced today that a live-action film adaptation of Satoru Noda's adventure manga Golden Kamuy is now in the works. The news was also revealed on the wrap-around jacket band of the manga's latest 29th tankobon volume released today in Japan. No word yet on when the film will be released or who will be in the cast.
The manga has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump Magazine since August 2014. With the release of its 29th volume, the series has printed a total of 19 million copies, and its 30th and 31st volumes are scheduled to be released in June and July. The manga's final chapter will be published in the magazine's 22nd/23rd combined issue to be available in Japan on April 28.

The manga's TV anime adaptation was aired for three seasons with a total of 36 episodes from 2018 to 2020, and its next fourth season is set to premiere in October 2022. The previous three seasons are available on Crunchyroll.
