Players who purchase first-print copies of Earth Defense Force 6 will receive Hololive Virtual YouTuber decoys to use in the game; they are used to divert enemy attention during battle. The three Virtual YouTubers are Ookami Mio, Shirakami Fubuki, and Nakiri Ayame.

While there hasn't been an official localization announcement for the game yet, the last mainline entry, Earth Defense Force 5, saw an international release outside of Japan back in 2018. It has sold over 950,000 copies worldwide, with 500,000 in Japan alone. Earth Defense Force 6 will continue the story where the previous entry left off.
