It's almost time for another crack at the Higurashi anime. Due out this October, Higurashi When They Cry - NEW will be available on various stations in Japan and via streaming simulcast on Funimation. Now that we have just a little over a month to go before the October 1 debut, Funimation went ahead and shared an English-subtitled version of last week's second promo.
As previously reported, the above trailer confirms more of the original cast members from the visual novel by 07th Expansion and original TV anime, who will be reprising their roles alongside the new staff members at Passione (citrus).
Some of the cast members include:
Shion Sonozaki - Satsuki Yukino (Kagome in Inuyasha)
Kuraudo Oishi - Chafurin (Inspector Megure in Case Closed)
Jiro Tomitake - Toru Okawa (Roy Mustang in Fullmetal Alchemist)
Miyo Takano - Miko Ito (Android #18 in Dragon Ball Z)
Kyosuke Irie - Toshihiko Seki (Senketsu in Kill la Kill)
Among the staff members revealed thus far are Keiichiro Kawaguchi (Please Tell Me! Galko-chan) as director, with Akio Watanabe (Monogatari) on character designs, series composition by BLACKFOX's Naoki Hayashi, and music from Kenji Kawai (Mob Psycho 100).
