Gen Hoshino's SPY x FAMILY Ending Theme MV Reaches 5 Million Views Only in 2 Weeks

The official Twitter for singer-songwriter Gen Hoshino reported on Thursday that the music video for his latest digital single song "Comedy," the ending theme for the spring 2022 TV anime SPY x FAMILY, has already been viewed more than five million times on YouTube only in two weeks. The video depicts Hoshino and the mysterious creatures' peaceful everyday life together.

The newly-written song for the anime was released digitally from SPEEDSTAR RECORDS on April 8, 2022, then ranked No.1 on Oricon's weekly digital single chart and Billboard JAPAN's download song chart "Download Songs." He says of the song, "The production staff gave me the message to use 'family' as the theme, so I wrote a song about my idea of family, keeping in mind the sense of family that the story has. I had previously composed a song called 'Family Song' on the same theme, but I think I was able to create something completely different with this 'Comedy.'"
