May 17, on the release day of its final 34th volume in Japan, Kodansha confirmed that Atsushi Ohkubo's dark fantasy manga series Fire Force has printed a total of 20 million copies worldwide since its launch in 2015.
Following the author's first hit series Soul Eater and its sequel Soul Eater Not! from 2004 to 2014, Fire Force started serialization in the publisher's Weekly Shonen Magazine in September 2015, then its final 304th chapter was published in the magazine's 13th issue of 2022.
Its first TV anime adaptation was aired for 24 episodes in 2019 and the second season with another 24 episodes followed in 2020. As already reported, the TV anime's third season and a new mobile game titled Fire Force: Enbu no Sho (Flame Dance Chapter) have been in the works.
