Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku Manga Gets a Spin-off Series

 

 

Japanese publisher Ichijinsha has announced today that Fujita's love comedy manga series Otaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii / Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku ended its six-year serialization with its 60th chapter posted on the Comic Pool website on July 16.

 

The manga strated seialization on the site in November 2015, then adapted into a TV anime in 2018 and a live-action film in 2020. With the support of many devoted fans, the series has become a huge hit with a total of 12 million copies printed (including digital edition).

 

The publisher has also decided that a spin-off series to the manga will be published on the Comic Pool website to express their gratitude to all of the fans. Its launch schedule will be announced at a later date.

 

The manga's final 11th volume is set to be released in Japan on October 14, 2021. Its 4,400 yen (40 USD) special edition will come with a bonus Blu-ray that includes a newly-produced 20-minute OAD (Original Anime Disc). Its story is based on the "Company Trip" episode told in the sixth volume.
