The official website for Mamoru Hosoda's new anime feature film Ryu to Sobakasu no Hime / BELLE is updated with a new visual featuring its protagonist Suzu and her avatar Belle, who are singing with smiles on their faces under a blue sky with summery clouds.
Ryu to Sobakasu no Hime / BELLE was released in 416 theaters across Japan on July 16. It was also announced that the 121-minute film earned 890 million yen (8.09 million USD) on 600,000 admissions in its first three days. The first three-day gross was 178 percent of that of Hosoda's previous film Mirai no Mirai / Mirai released in July 2018. Based on the first week's results, it is possible that the film could become the most successful film of Hosoda's career, surpassing Bakemono no Ko / The Boy and The Beast, which was released in July 2015 and earned 5.85 billion yen (53.2 million USD).
