Watch as Sakamoto Takuma continues his quest to free Shera L. Greenwood and Rem Galleu from his spell while staying true to the character he reincarnated as in How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord Ω, scheduled to premiere in April 2021. A new trailer for the upcoming second season announced the news, alongside revealing some fresh faces, their character art, and their voice actors, and a new synopsis for the upcoming second season of How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord.
Newly released synopsis for the second season of How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord:
After being summoned to another world as his character from a game, Diablo (Real Name: Sakamoto Takuma), enjoys life in a world just like his game where two women, Shera and Rem, both insist, “I’m the one who summoned him!”
Along the way, he fights the elite soldiers of the elves’ kingdom as well as the Fallen, and even subjugates the Demon Lord Krebskulm, and so on.
He proclaims, “My name is Diablo. A Demon Lord from another world!” and pretends to be a Demon Lord as he faces down powerful foes while occasionally being overwhelmed by the beautiful women with him and building a firm bond of trust between them.
—-Until one day.
Diablo and the others are traveling through the woods around the eastern lake when they encounter a lone girl in tatters.
“A-Are… you a God?”
The woman is Lumachina, a High Priest of the Church being pursued by a Paladin…!
The (pretend) Demon Lord with no social skills plunges into the mess with absolute strength!
These dream-packed tales of a Demon Lord from another world and the women who summoned him begin once again!
Joining the returning cast members from the first season are:
Miku Ito (Miku Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets) voicing Lumachina Weselia
Lumachina's character description:
She’s a High Priest, one of the highest positions within the Church.
Diablo rescues her when she’s being pursued by a Paladin.
She has firm faith in the Gods and a strong sense of justice.
Comment from Miku Ito:
Q1. Could you tell us what your impression of this title was?
It was full of people’s ideals and dreams, and I was so excited to read it! All the characters have a lot of individuality, and they’re really cute and bold, and they made my heart jump! The story’s interesting too, and I found myself swallowed up in it before I realized it!
Q2. Could you tell us about your impression of the character you’ll be performing, and what you’re eager about within that role?
Lumachina is noble and she’s in a sacred position, but she really loves the Gods, and I think her playful side is cute Her strong core is wonderful too. She also has a really nice figure…! I hope I can convey the charm of her sense of justice and her girly aspects with my performance.
Q3. Do you have a message for fans of the original novel?
I’ll just be joining with this second season, but I’ll be doing my very best so you can fall in love with the anime version of Lumachina as well! I’m very excited as well… to see how the anime will bring Lumachina to life! Please look forward to seeing Lumachina in the anime!
Aoi Koga (Kaguya Shinomiya in KAGUYA-SAMA: LOVE IS WAR) as Rose
Rose's character description:
A Magimatic Maid.
Though she appears to be human, she’s actually an automaton powered by magic.
She boasts tremendous strength, but she also has rather intense delusions...
Comment from Aoi Koga:
Q1. Could you tell us what your impression of this title was?
The whole story starts off from an incredible point, doesn’t it?
I was laughing at the gap between Diablo-san’s inner voice and the way he actually behaves, and I found it interesting that it made even me nervous during the conversational exchanges.
Above all though, the female characters are really charming, and they’re all so cute!!!
I’m really excited to find out what developments lie ahead.
Q2. Could you tell us about your impression of the character you’ll be performing, and what you’re eager about within that role?
The visual image of Rose, a twin-tailed girl in a maid outfit, had a huge impact and I thought, “She’s super cute!” when I saw the character art.
In contrast to her cute appearance, her expressions and personality are both cold and ruthless, with the occasional touch of madness, so she’s an interesting girl that’s really worth performing.
Though she also shows her affectionate side to Diablo-san, so I want to do my best to convey all of Rose’s charm with that gap in her behavior and by expressing the mental growth she goes through thanks to her contact with everyone else…!
Q3. Do you have a message for fans of the original novel?
First off, congratulations on a second season of the anime!
I’m Aoi Koga, and I’ll be in charge of voicing Rose. I’ll be joining the cast this second season, so there are some things I’m nervous about, but I’ll do my best so all of you who supported the original novel can enjoy this as well!
How will our main characters’ story change as they interact with these new characters…?!
Please look forward to watching Rose’s cute and cool action on screen!
I hope you all enjoy it!
Fumiko Uchimura (Mavis von Austien in Didn't I say to make my abilities average in the next life) as Horn
Horn's character description:
An adventurer in Zircon Tower City. Her race is grasswalker.
Her job (class) is to explore (Seeker), and she serves as a guide in the dungeon.
Lock-picking is her forte.
Comment from Fumiko Uchimura:
Q1. Could you tell us what your impression of this title was?
The main character is literally a Demon Lord from another world! Or so I thought, but it’s actually Demon Lord roleplay?! The story contains shocking moments like that, comedic moments woven together by its unique characters, serious moments, sexy moments, and the more you read this wonderful story, the more you come to enjoy it, I believe.
Q2. Could you tell us about your impression of the character you’ll be performing, and what you’re eager about within that role?
Horn’s a bit of a coward who’s likely to flee at signs of battle, but I remember thinking she’s also a kind and genuine girl who can take action to help others.
I hope my performance can deliver her genuineness, her cuteness, and that “You cheeky! Though, I just can’t hate you” aspect of her character to everyone watching!
Q3. Do you have a message for fans of the original novel?
I’ll do my best so everyone who read the original or watched the first season can continue to enjoy this title! I’d be delighted if you continue to watch this season, so please look forward to it!
Chinatsu Akasaki (Kasumi Miwa in JUJUTSU KAISEN) as Fanis Laminitus
Laminitus' character description:
The Lord of Zircon Tower City.
She’s a high-level Archer who uses Magi-Guns.
She thinks poorly of both the Church and Paladins, calling them swindlers...
Comment from Chinatsu Akasaki:
Q1. Could you tell us what your impression of this title was?
I love the atmosphere it’s able to create by keeping its serious moments from growing too heavy with the cuteness of the characters, the tempo of the dialogue, and it’s witty gag scenes.
Every time I hear Diablo’s inner voice, I feel, “Man, you’ve got it rough…”
You can do it, Demon Lord from another world!
Q2. Could you tell us about your impression of the character you’ll be performing, and what you’re eager about within that role?
She’s constantly arrogant and overbearing, so I thought, “She’d be really hard to get close to.”
Though I definitely sensed that her convictions and the desire to protect something lay behind her absolute confidence.
It’s my hope that I can get close to her emotions and express both that strength and weakness in my performance.
Q3. Do you have a message for fans of the original novel?
I’ll be doing my best with this performance to try and bring out more of Laminitus’ appeal in the anime! I hope you’ll be able to enjoy a variety of her expressions as well!
Please look forward to the second season too!
