Long-running children's series Doraemon is ringing in the new year with a two-part, hour-long special. And, notably, each half of the special reflects one of the show's recent or upcoming theatrical releases.
The show, based on the manga by duo Fujiko Fujio, has both a TV anime and an annual film. Additionally, stories from the manga have been adapted into two 3DCG animated films directed by Ryuuichi Yagi and Takashi Yamazaki (Lupin the 3rd: The First).
The first of the two specials is titled "Blockbuster Tokusatsu Movie Space Daimajin." In it, Nobita and his friends use Doraemon's new Easy Tokusatsu Camera to make their own sci-fi action film. But it's not long before Gian butts in and makes a mess. The special is inspired by the upcoming 41st Doraemon feature film, Nobita's Little Star Wars.

The second special, titled "Nobita's Wedding Day Eve," serves as a prequel to the currently-running Stand by Me Doraemon 2. The film sees Nobita traveling to his own future wedding day, only for his future self to get cold feet. Check out some screencaps from the special:
