New Idol-themed Original TV Anime Gekidol Confirms January 5, 2021 Premiere

 

 

Along with a key visual featuring its  nine main characters, the official website for Hoods Entertainment's upcoming original TV anime Gekidol announced today that it is set to premiere on AT-X in Japan on January 5, 2021, the n on Bs Fuji five days later. The "Engeki (Stage Play) x Idol"-themed project was revealed back in December 2015. Its first teaser PV was screened at the company's booth in the Winter Comiket of the year.

 

Shigeru Ueda (UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie) is attached to direct, alongside chief writer Keiichiro Oochi (The Quintessential Quintuplets) and anime character designer/chief animation director Hijiri Tateishi (Val × Love). Foods Entertainment (3D Kanojo Real Girl) works on anime production.

 

 

Story introduction:

 

It has been five years since the mysterious disaster - Global Simultaneous City Disappearance. While still being in turmoil, but the world has been slowly recovering. In such a world, There are girls who are attracted to the stage plays using "Theatrical Material System" with 3D holograms and aiming for the shining stage. With each thought in mind Now, the curtain goes up on the stage.
