Heaven's Design Team

Before the upcoming TV anime Heaven's Design Team graces TV screens in Japan, the first episode has been showing in libraries across the country in a bid to drum up support for the series before it starts on January 7. These viewings have been so popular that now schools in Japan want to show the episode to their students so they can enjoy themselves at school.

A key visual for the upcoming Heaven's Design Team TV anime, featuring the titular team members and their various creations.

For schools and libraries in Japan, they can request a DVD of the first episode until December 25 to show for free until January 6 – the day before the first episode of Heaven's Design Team airs.

Kodansha Comics releases the sky-high workplace comedy manga series written by Hebi-Zou and Tsuta Suzuki, illustrated by Tarako, in English via digital storefronts, with 4 volumes released as of December 2019. The first chapter of the first volume can be read for free on their website and they describe the series as such:

In Heaven’s Animal Design Department, designers create a variety of new animals daily while contending with the unreasonable requests of their client: God. Funny, interesting, and full of useful information, this series answers questions such as, “Why can’t unicorns exist?”, “What makes an animal taste delicious?”, “What’s the most powerful creature in the ocean?”, and, “Bird versus snake: who would win?” You won’t believe it’s a manga series when you read up on the featured animals in the included encyclopedia entries. Heaven’s Design Team will make your next trip to the zoo or aquarium 100 times more fun!

Soichi Masui (Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai) is directing Heaven's Design Team at Asahi Production and will premiere on January 7, 2021, on Tokyo MX, MBS, TV Aichi, AT-X, and BS Fuji.
