Shinji Higuchi-directed Shin Ultraman Feature Film Unveils Stunning New Visuals

The official website and Twitter for the forthcoming all-new live-action film Shin Ultraman have posted two new visuals. Both will be displayed at the theaters across Japan from tomorrow, March 18.

The poster visual shows the tense expressions of the protagonist who will become Ultraman, Shinji Kaminaga played by Takumi Saito, and other main characters, with Ultraman's profile in the background. And the theater banner visual features a standing Ultraman looking back against a blue sky. This is the first time the back of Ultraman is shown to the public. Both visuals are accompanied by the tagline: "Imagination and Romance. And Friendship."

The Shinji Higuchi (Attack on Titan live-action films, Shin Godzilla)-directed film was originally set to be released in the early summer of 2021, but has been postponed for a year to May 13, 2022, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Hideaki Anno (Evangelion series) has joined the film's production as the producer/planner/screenplay writer.
