Gundam Reconguista in G's 4th & 5th Compilation Films Hit Theaters This Summer

The official website for the Gundam Reconguista in G anime franchise has announced the release schedule for the last two chapters of its five-part compilation film project. It will have been one year since the third chapter premiered in July 2021.

Based on the 26-episode TV anime that was aired from October 2014 to March 2015 as part of the Gundam franchise's 35th anniversary project, the first chapter "Ike! Core Fighter! / Go! Core Fighter" was released in November 2019, then the second chapter "Bellri Singeki / Bellri's Fierce Charge" and the third chapter "Uchu kara no Isan / The Legacy of Space" followed in February 2020 and July 2021, respectively.

The fourth chapter "Gekitou ni Sakebu Ai / Shouting Love Into a Fierce Fight" is set to be released in Japan on July 22, 2022, and the fifth and final chapter "Shisen wo Koete / Crossing the Line Between Life and Death" will premiere on August 5, 2022. The official website writes, "The theatrical film editions have been based on the material from the TV series, and has been made in the form of a high quality version, but the amount of completely new scenes in the fourth and fifth chapters has been greatly increased. As a result, the story itself has evolved into an updated version of the TV series."
