Hot-blooded high school kids will soon tackle a full contact sport from India, because a new key visual and the Japanese broadcast schedule have been revealed for Burning Kabaddi (known as Shakunetsu Kabaddi in Japan), an upcoming TV anime based on the passionate sports manga by Hajime Musashino.
The story of Burning Kabaddi follows Tatsuya Yoigoshi, a former soccer ace who gave up sports after graduating from middle school. One day Tatsuya is scouted by Masato Ohjyo, the captain of the Noukin High School kabaddi club. Tatsuya is convinced that kabaddi is just a joke, but his athletic instincts awaken when he attends a practice match and discovers that the sport is actually closer to a martial arts competition.
Burning Kabaddi is directed by Kazuya Ichikawa and features animation production by TMS Entertainment. The series will broadcast in Japan according to the following TV schedule:
- TV Tokyo: every Friday during the 25:23 time slot beginning on April 02, 2021.
- TV Osaka: every Friday during the 26:10 time slot beginning on April 02, 2021.
- TV Aichi: every Friday during the 26:05 time slot beginning on April 02, 2021.
- AT-X: every Sunday during the 22:30 time slot beginning on April 04, 2021, with repeat broadcasts later.
Please note that some Japanese TV schedules count early-morning programming as late-night programming of the previous day, so for example the 25:23 time slot on Friday evening is actually on Saturday morning at 1:23am JST.
