A new trailer and a new Japanese key visual have been published for Pacific Rim: The Black, an upcoming Netflix original anime set in the world of the Pacific Rim film franchise, and the new visuals hint that the heroes will have to face not only giant monsters and a hostile environment, but human antagonists as well.
Netflix describes the story of Pacific Rim: The Black as follows:
There was a time when Kaiju rose from the Pacific Rim only to encounter gigantic robots, Jaegers, built to fight them back. That time has passed. Now, Australia has been overrun by Kaiju, forcing the evacuation of an entire continent. Left behind, teenage siblings Taylor and Hayley embark on a desperate search for their missing parents, teaching themselves to pilot a battered, long-abandoned Jaeger to help in their quest and give them even the slightest hope of surviving.
Produced by Legendary Television and Polygon Pictures, Pacific Rim: The Black will begin streaming on Netflix on March 04, 2021. The series will run for 7 episodes, with each episode being approximately 30 minutes in length.
