The year 2018 marks the 10 year anniversary of Ga-Rei-Zero, a TV anime based on the supernatural manga by Hajime Segawa, and to celebrate this milestone the cast and crew are gathering in February of 2019 for a special, one-night music & talk event entitled "Gai-Rei-Zero Ritual".
The "Ritual" event will be held at 7:00 PM JST on February 24, 2019, at the Shinjuku BLAZE venue in Kabukicho, Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. The event consists of two parts, with the first part featuring a live-talk portion with cast and crew members as well as a screening of Episode 12 of Ga-Rei-Zero, while the second part involves Anisong DJs performing image songs and theme songs from the series. The guests planned for the event include:
- Minoru Shiraishi (the voice of Kensuke Nimura)
- Minori Chihara (the voice of Kagura Tsuchimiya)
- Faylan
- yozuca
- Ei Aoki (director)
- Katsuhiko Takayama (series composition & screenplay)
- Toshiyuki Nagano (TROYCA CEO & president)
- Atsushi Itou (producer)
The event will also feature exclusive, limited-edition merchandise. Additionally, a 10th anniversary Bluray box set for Ga-Rei-Zero will be released in Japan in the Spring season of 2019.
The original Ga-Rei manga was serialized from 2005 - 2010 in Kadokawa's Shōnen Ace manga magazine, and an English language version is also available from BookWalker. The 2008 Ga-Rei-Zero TV anime is directed by Ei Aoki and features animation by AIC Spirits and Asread. The series is digitally distributed in the United States by Funimation, who describe the story as follows:
