Edmonton Oilers waive Ponus Aberb, Jakub Jerabek, so how is roster looking?

This in from the Edmonton Oilers, them waiving Pontus Aberg and Jakub Jerabek: “The Oilers have placed forward Pontus Aberg on waivers for the purpose of assignment to the @Condors. Also, defenceman Jakub Jerabek has been released & is awaiting assignment.” The Journal’s Jim Matheson reports: “Jerabek may wind up playing overseas rather than going to Bakersfield. He can play both sides but had a so-so camp after being signed to the one-year $1 million contract… No huge surprise that Aberg is on waivers to send him to Bakersfield. He has never really won over trust of coaches after trade last February. He doesn’t kill penalties or play on PP. He doesn’t fit their idea of role player.” Jerabek may wind up playing overseas rather than going to Bakersfield. As for Aberg, he never showed enough to get past Drake Caggiula or Kailer Yamamoto, so this move is no surprise. Looks like there could be a contract for Jason Garrison or Alex Chiasson. Chiasson is coming off a weak game while Garrison had a slow start to camp before coming on strong. The team’s choice will depend on whether they want to go with a forward or a d-man to round out the roster. My bet would be they sign Garrison. It’s also
