Frontier Works (Animate group) has announced that a two-disc complete Blu-ray box set including all of the Saber Marionette anime series is scheduled to be released in Japan on March 24, 2021. Its total running time is 1,380 minutes and the price is 29,700 yen (including tax/about 281 US dollars).
Saber Marinette was one of the most successful mixed media projects in the mid-1990s, created by Satoru Akahori (NG Knight Ramune & 40, Sakura Wars) and Hiroshi Negi (Tenchi Muyo!). In addition to the anime, the project also included light novels, manga, radio/CD drama, a table talk RPG, and a Play Station game.
The two-disc set will include the four anime series released from 1995 to 1998 listed below, and they will be digitally remastered from the original master in "High Rate SD (480i)" quality. The "J" series' anime character designer Tsukasa Kotobuki draws the jacket illustration for the box set.
