This morning's Pokémon Sword and Shield announcement revealed that the new game will take place in Galar, a new UK-inspired region. The announcement has us dreaming of battles in castles, royal trainers, and Celtic Ghost-type 'mons. But when it comes to Twitter's UK contingent, the expectations are more along the lines of football hooligans and the best place to get a sausage roll.
British Twitter users — and those abroad familiar with the UK — have started putting a real-world spin on the upcoming Pokémon journey.

Amongst fans, the girl-type protagonist seems to be developing the collective persona of @ScottishTweets, as seen in this tweet from @CaptainHanyuu:
On a slightly more serious/educational note, Twitter user @Keillidh has taken the time to point out that there are some Scottish-inspired settings showing up in-game, too!
I love seeing my home in the new #Pokemon, so I've made this to compare a few locations in Scotland that may have inspired the look of the game. It's a little disheartening to see people just refer to the new game as 'Pokemon England'. Please share it around! (1/4) pic.twitter.com/CKIRF9pGeU

We'll get to see how the whole thing pans out when Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield come out later this year.
