It's almost Pokémon Day, which means it's almost time for another Pokémon Presents. The Pokémon Company has announced that the annual showcase for the franchise will return next week on February 27. As for what to expect, no details were shared but if it's like previous Pokémon Day celebration showcases, it could be an exciting day for trainers.
This news was revealed today on the official Pokémon X (formerly Twitter) account with a quick video showing a 3D Pikachu rushing onto the screen to pose in front of the Pokémon Presents logo while a retro rendition of a classic song plays. Now, instincts might tell you to read into this model and song but experience learned from previous announcements says it's not a tease – The Pokémon Company always does this kind of stuff and there's almost no relation to the big announcements of the showcase.

While there are no details about what to expect, a look back at previous Pokémon Day-specific Pokémon Presents showcases might provide some insight. During the 2022 Pokémon Day showcase, developer Game Freak announced Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the Daybreak update for Pokémon Legends: Arceus, a mystery gift for the at-the-time-recent Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remakes, and a few other things.
During last year's Pokémon Day showcase, Game Freak announced The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the long-awaited release date for Pokémon Sleep, updates to Pokémon GO, and more.
If I had to guess, this year's showcase will feature remakes of Pokémon Black and White, the fifth generation of the series released in 2011 on Nintendo DS in the U.S. If not those, then perhaps a new Pokémon Legends game; maybe both. If it's like the final months of 2021 and first few months of 2022, perhaps we'll get the remakes of Black and White at the end of this year and a Pokémon Legends: Kyurem or something like that at the top of 2025.
Only time will tell but fortunately, we don't have to wait too long because Pokémon Presents returns Tuesday, February 27.
