Japan Box Office: Makoto Shinkai's Suzume Has Stayed on No.1 for Three Consecutive Weekends

    The momentum is still going strong. Makoto Shinkai's lates tfeature  Suzume earned 843 million yen (6.08 million USD) on 612,000 admissions in its third weekend, staying on No.1 in Japan's weekend box office ranking three consecutive weeks. The third weekend gross was 16.5 percent down from its second weekend, which was equivalent to the level of decline from week one to week two.   The film's cumulative total domestic gross has reached 6.269 billion yen (45.17 million USD) on 4.6 million admissions, which is 100.1 percent of the first three-week gross of Shinkai's 2016 film Your Name. , and 104.5 percent of that of his 2019 film Weathering With You . Kenshi Yonezu's Chainsaw Man Opening Theme Makes No.1 Debut on Japan's Weekly Single Charts

    According to Oricon's latest sales report, Japanese singer-songwriter Kenshi Yonezu 's 13th CD single "KICK BACK,"  released on November 23, made its No.1 debut on the weekly CD single charts by selling 301,000 copies in its first week.   This is his third No.1 single on the charts, following his ninth single "Flamingo/TEENAGE RIOT" in 2018 and 11th single "Pale Blue" in 2021. He has also become the first solo artist who has reached No. 1 with first-week sales exceeding 300,000 copies in the Reiwa era in Japan.   "KICK BAK," written/composed by Yonezu, was first released digitally from SME Records on October 12 and topped two digital charts, the weekly digital single ranking and the weekly streaming ranking. Heroines Gather in The Legendary Hero is Dead! TV Anime Key Visual

  A new key visual and three new cast members have been revealed for The Legendary Hero is Dead! (known in Japan as Yuusha ga Shinda! ), an upcoming TV anime based on the comic fantasy manga by Subaruichi about a simple farmhand how gets wrapped up in the adventure of a lifetime after he accidentally kills the brave hero destined to save the world from the forces of darkness.   The new cast members include:   Anri Hazewards voiced by Ayana Taketatsu.
